Nifty opens below 12,150, Sensex down
350 pts on Middle East tensions
Market Opens: It is weak start for the
Indian indices on January 6 with Nifty below 12,150.
At 09:17 hrs IST, the Sensex is down
297.05 points or 0.72% at 41167.56, and the Nifty down 89.30 points or 0.73% at
12137.40. About 260 shares have advanced, 661 shares declined, and 53 shares are
unchanged.
Adani Port, TCS, Infosys, ONGC and Titan
are among major gainers on the Indices, while losers are Karur Vysya Bank,
Bajaj Finance, Power Grid, Power Grid, Asian Paints, Coal India and BPCL.
Rupee
Opens: The Indian rupee opened 21 paise lower at
72.01 per dollar on Monday versus Friday's close of 71.80.
