Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 31-Oct-2017

Market Live: Nifty opens flat, Midcap outperforms Sensex; Axis Bank, Tata Steel gain

Equity benchmarks opened flat with a negative bias, led by some profit booking as investors looked for more earnings for cues.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 33.60 points at 33,232.56 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 11.50 points to 10,352.20.

SBI, IOC and HDFC were early gainers while Infosys was down over 2 percent post buyback.
ICICI Bank, GAIL, Coal India, Bharti Infratel, BPCL, Sun Pharma, Indiabulls Housing Finance and L&T were early losers.

Nifty Midcap index was up 0.3 percent on positive breadth as about two shares advanced for every share falling on the NSE.

Balaji Amines, LMW, Reliance Communications, Shriram Transport, Shriram City Union, Titan Company, Just Dial and Bharat Electronics rallied 2-10 percent.

SPARC, IDFC Bank, Central Bank of India and Astra Microwave fell 1-4 percent.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 30-10-2017

Market Live: Sensex, Nifty open at record high; ONGC, Bharti Infratel, SBI gainers

Equity benchmarks started off the week at record high, with the Nifty crossing earlier intraday record high. Investors continued to focus on earnings.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 117.35 points at 33274.57 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 45.80 points to 10,368.80.

ICICI Bank was down over a percent post earnings on profit booking. The stock seems to have already priced in earnings and better-than-expected slippages.

ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Maruti Suzuki, Vedanta and Reliance Industries were early gainers.

About 1,030 shares advanced against 239 declining shares on the BSE.The broader markets outperformed benchmarks as the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 0.7 percent each.

Punj Lloyd, United Spirits, Ramakrishna Forgings, Tata Metaliks, Linde India, Dalmia Bharat Sugar, Jet Airways, InterGlobe Aviation, SpiceJet, Shriram EPC, Shriram City and IDFC were up 1-7 percent.

SPARC and AU Small Finance were down 1-4 percent.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 27-10-2017

Market Live: Sensex, Nifty hit record highs at open: Yes Bank down 10%, USL up 9%

The market started off November series on a positive note as equity benchmarks hit fresh record highs but Nifty Bank fell over half a percent due to weak earnings from Yes Bank.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 83.71 points at 33,230.84 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 15.10 points or to 10,358.90.

Yes Bank plunged 10 percent post earnings while ICICI Bank was down 2.5 percent ahead of earnings later today.

ITC, Maruti and IOC gained ahead of earnings.Cipla, BPCL, Sun Pharma, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finance, L&T, Bajaj Auto, Aurobindo, Infosys and Tata Motors gained 1-2 percent.

Nifty Midcap index was up 0.3 percent and Smallcap gained 0.6 percent as about 897 shares advanced against 337 declining shares on the NSE.

Union Bank, Syndicate Bank, Allahabad Bank and DHFL were down a percent each.

Can Fin Homes, LIC Housing Finance, Mastek, Jubilant Foodworks and Polaris Consulting rallied 1-8 percent.

After earnings, Biocon fell 5.5 percent while United Spirits was up 8.5 percent and Crompton Consumer rallied 5 percent.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 26-10-2017

Market Live: Nifty opens flat, Sensex hovers around 33K; PNB, SBI, BoB top gainers

Equity benchmarks started off the trade on a flat note Thursday, ahead of expiry of October futures & options contracts later today.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 47.50 points at 32995.00 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 16 points to 10,279.40.

About 594 shares advanced against 436 declining shares on the BSE.

SBI, PNB, Bank of Baroda and Canara Bank rallied 1-6 percent, continuing for second consecutive session after big recapitalisation plan.

Indiabulls Housing Finance, Capital First, Gruh Finance, LIC Housing Finance and DHFL were down 1-4 percent.

Polaris Consulting was up 16 percent on delisting buzz.

Quess Corp, PNB Housing Finance, Ashok Buildcon and Sadbhav Engineering rose 1-6 percent while Jaypee Infra and Jaiprakash Associates were down 5-10 percent.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 25-10-2017

Market Live: Banks lift benchmark indices to record high; Nifty above 10,300, Sensex up 500 pts

Equity benchmarks hit historic highs in opening trade on Wednesday, driven by banks after the government announced Rs 2.11 lakh crore recapitalisation for PSU banks on asset quality worries.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 456.55 points or 1.40 percent at 33,063.89 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 104.80 points or 1.03 percent to 10,312.50.

HCL Technologies, Infosys, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Asian Paints were under pressure in early trade.

Can Fin Homes, M&M Financial, L&T Finance and Bharat Financial were down 1-2 percent.
UCO Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and Union Bank rallied 15-20 percent.

Shipping Corporation, KNR Construction, J Kumar Infra, Ashoka Buildcon, Sadbhav Engineering and Electrosteel Steels rallied up to 8 percent.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 23-10-2017

Market Live: Nifty reclaims 10,200, Sensex gains 150 pts; RIL, ICICI Bank lead

Equity benchmarks started off the week on a positive note Monday, with the Nifty reclaiming 10,150 level on short covering after over a percent loss seen in previous week. The market opened after a long weekend.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 80.01 points at 32,469.97 and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 30.30 points at 10,176.80.
Hero Motocorp, Bharti Airtel, Dr Reddy's Labs, Infosys, HUL, Cipla, TCS and Reliance Industries gained 1-2 percent.
Bajaj Auto, Axis Bank, HDFC, Indiabulls Real, UPL and HPCL were under pressure in early trade.

Nifty Midcap was up 0.2 percent on positive market breadth.
Bhushan Steel, Uttam Galva, Monnet Ispat, Visa Steel, 63 Moons, Dwarikesh Sugar, Puravankara Projects, Radico Khaitan and Gati rallied 2-10 percent.

Sintex Industries, Canara Bank, Andhra Bank and Titan Company were down 1 percent.

The Indian rupee has opened at 65.07 a dollar, falling 5 paise compared with previous close of 65.02 a dollar.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 13-10-2017

Market Live: Nifty opens above 10,100, Sensex up 100 pts; RIL, Bharti Airtel lead

Equity benchmarks extended previous day's gains in opening, with the Nifty reclaiming 10,100 level and inching towards its record high level. The rally was driven by Reliance Industries and Bharti Airtel.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 113.08 points at 32,295.30 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 31.40 points to 10,127.80.

Bharti Airtel was up 6 percent, Tata Teleservices up 9 percent and Tata Communications up 2 percent after Airtel decided to buy consumer telecom business of Tata Sons. Bharti Infratel was up 3 percent.

Reliance Industries gained a percent ahead of second quarter earnings later today.
Shriram EPC rallied 15 percent post bagging of multiple orders.

Bharat Financial and IndusInd Bank gained 0.4 percent each ahead of IndusInd's board meeting on Saturday.

Nifty Midcap was up 0.3 percent as about three shares advanced for every share falling on the NSE.

BHEL, EON Electric, LEEL Electricals, Indian Toners, Aimco Pesticides, Indo Count, Teamlease, NBCC, Adani Transmission, Cyient, MCX (ahead of Q2 earnings later today), Manappuram Finance and DHFL gained 1-10 percent.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 10-10-2017

Market Live: Nifty opens above 10,000, Sensex rises 100 pts; pharma, metals shine

Equity benchmarks started off trade on a positive note Tuesday despite mixed global cues, backed by healthcare, metals and select banks stocks.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 82.94 points at 31,929.83 and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 23.75 points at 10,012.50.

About 777 shares advanced against 214 declining shares on the BSE.

Lupin, L&T, Indiabulls Housing, IndusInd Bank, M&M, Aurobindo Pharma, Cipla and Tata Steel were early gainers while HDFC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Axis Bank were under pressure.

Nifty Midcap was up 0.4 percent. SPARC, Biocon, NCC, NBCC, TVS Electronics, Graphite India, HEG, Goa Carbon and Bombay Dyeing rallied up to 15 percent.

Asian markets were mixed, with the Japan's Nikkei 225 rising 0.43 percent after markets reopened for trade following a long weekend. South Korea's Kospi surged 1.85 percent while China's Shanghai was down 0.3 percent.
