Sensex,
Nifty flat amid volatility; pharma, FMCG stocks in focus
Except Nifty Bank, other sectoral
indices are trading in the green, with pharma gains over 3 percent followed by
metal, IT, infra, auto and FMCG.
Market
Update: After a positive start in the volatile
trade the benchmark indices erased all the gains with nifty trading at day's
low level.
The Sensex is down 226.12 points or
0.80% at 28062.11, and the Nifty down 47.70 points or 0.58% at 8215.75. About
795 shares have advanced, 599 shares declined, and 59 shares are unchanged.
Power Grid, Gail, ONGC, Vedanta, JSW
Steel, Tata Steel , ITC Dr Reddy's Lab and Bharti Airtel are among major
gainers on the Indices, while losers are HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank.
Rupee
Opens: The Indian rupee opened higher by 21 paise
at 74.77 per dollar on Friday versus Thursday's close 74.98.
