ABR Venture-Stock Market News Update & Opening Bell for 14-Feb-2020


Nifty opens above 12,200, Sensex up 100 pts; BPCL, Yes Bank in focus 
Market Opens: It is a positive start for the Indian indices with Nifty above 12,200 level.

The Sensex is up 167.12 points or 0.40% at 41,626.91, and the Nifty up 49.20 points or 0.40% at 12,223.90.  About 534 shares have advanced, 185 shares declined, and 33 shares are unchanged.

BPCL, Zee Entertainment, Tata Moors, Nestle are among major gainers on the Indices, while losers are Dr Reddy's Lab, HUL and Eicher Motors.

Rupee Opens: The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 71.30 per dollar on Friday versus previous close 71.33.

Gold Update: Gold prices held steady near a one-week high on Friday, as a mounting coronavirus death toll supported safe-haven buying, while a stronger dollar kept a lid on gains.
