Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 19-03-2018


Market Live: Sensex erases opening gains, Nifty below 10,200; IOC falls for 4th day

Benchmark indices opened the week mildly higher amid volatility and mixed Asian cues on Monday. Political uncertainty after TDP exit from NDA government last week seems digested by the market.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 60.89 points at 33,236.89 and the 50-share NSE Nifty was up 21.40 points at 10,216.60.

Vedanta, Aurobindo Pharma, Dr Reddy's Labs, Cipla, Sun Pharma, GAIL, Yes Bank and HUL were early gainers.

HPCL, BPCL, IOC, Hero Motocorp, Axis Bank and Tech Mahindra were early losers.

Nifty Midcap was up 42 points.

HEG, Graphite India, NBCC, PNC Infratech, Sadbhav Infra, Ashoka Buildcon, United Bank, GMR Infrastructure, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank, PNB, IRB Infrastructure, Ramco Cements and Vakrangee gained up to 10 percent while SAIL and NMDC were under pressure.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 15-03-2018


Market Live: Sensex opens mildly lower, Nifty hovers around 10,400 amid weak global cues
 
Benchmark indices opened mildly lower, with the Nifty hovering around 10,400 levels, following negative lead from global peers.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 54.89 points at 33,780.85 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 11.60 points to 10,399.30.

HCL Technologies, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Dr Reddy's Labs, Vedanta, Aurobindo Pharma and M&M were gainers in opening.

Nifty Midcap index was up 53 points.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers, RCF, FACT, Zuari Agro, GSFC, Himadri Chemicals, Oberoi Realty and Venky's rallied up to 4 percent.

HDIL, Jaiprakash Associates, Ashok Leyland and GMR Infrastructure were under pressure.

Asian markets edged lower, with regional stock indexes recording slight losses after Wall Street declined amid concerns over heightened trade tensions.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell as Boeing shares pulled back on worries the US could engage China in a trade war. The 30-stock index lost 248.91 points at 24,758.12.

Market Live: Sensex falls 100 pts, Nifty breaks 10,400; PSU banks dip, IT outshines
 
Benchmark indices started off the day on a negative note on Wednesday, continuing consolidation for second consecutive session. Weak global cues weighed on market sentiment.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 99.50 points at 33,757.28 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 37.60 points to 10,389.30.

TCS, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, L&T and Aurobindo Pharma gained strength.

Tata Steel, Coal India, SBI, Hero Motocorp, Hindalco, HPCL, BPCL and ONGC were under pressure.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 13-03-2018


Market Live: Sensex consolidates, Nifty holds 10,400; TCS falls 5%, BoI rallies 9%

Benchmark indices opened mildly lower on Tuesday after the January's industrial output and February's CPI inflation data announced later in the day yesterday. It was a bit of profit booking after yesterday's more than 600 points rally on the Sensex.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 25.52 points at 33,892.42 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 7.50 points to 10,413.90.

TCS was biggest loser among Nifty50 stocks, falling more than 5 percent after big block deal.
Nifty Midcap was down 38 points and Nifty Bank was flat.

UCO Bank, IDBI Bank, PNB, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Balrampur Chini, Shree Renuka, Dhampur Sugar, InterGlobe Aviation and Biocon fell up to 5 percent.

Future Consumer rallied 6 percent.

Industrial output expanded at 7.5 percent in January, from 7.1 percent in previous month while retail inflation fell to a 4-month low of 4.44 percent in February from 5.07 percent in previous month.

Asian stock markets were lower as Washington's policies hit regional steel producers. The Nikkei 225, Shanghai Composite, Hang Seng and ASX 200 slipped 0.10-0.6 percent.

The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average slumped on Monday as the US tariffs signed into law last week by President Donald Trump weighed on industrials.

Stock Market Opening Bell & Market Update for 07-03-2018


Market Live: Sensex falls 100 pts, Nifty breaks 10,200 in opening: Midcap underperforms

Benchmark indices opened lower on Wednesday, tracking weakness in Dow Jones futures that fell 2 percent indicating lower opening on Wall Street.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 127.47 points at 33,189.73 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 48.30 points to 10,201.

Tata Motors hit fresh 52-week low, falling half a percent.

Nifty Midcap index was down 113 points or 0.59 percent.

Union Bank, Canara Bank, PFC, Allahabad Bank and Karnataka Bank hit fresh 52-week lows.

Ashoka Buildcon, Sadbhav Infrastructure, Dilip Buildcon, TeamLease and Blue Star gained 1-2.5 percent.
